Job Title:       International Coordinator
Reports To:    International Logistics
Location:       Shreveport, LA
Start Date:     ASAP


Responsibilities
  • General Description: Under general guidelines from the International and Air Cargo Manager manage carrier and customer relationships to support Brokerage activities. This position will solicit business from clients. Create carrier agreements to support client shipments. Monitor and communicate progress with client throughout the shipment. Manage all aspects of the documentation associated with the carrier contract and client contract for brokered shipments. Support the objectives and profit expectation in both brokerage shipments and logistic shipments.
  • Solicit business (shipments) from clients
  • Quote clients transit times and cost to move brokered shipments
  • Obtain client credit history and gain approval before any shipments are brokered
  • Maintain a log of all quotes to customer to understand and improve the win / loss ratio of business opportunities
  • Develop and foster carrier (vendor) relationship to enhance performance in both brokerage and logistic shipments
  • Solicit carrier bids to move client shipments. Negotiate carrier charges to optimize the service to the client and achieve profit objectives for AFS Logistics, LLC
  • Review, identify, and negotiate logistics shipping relations with carriers to maximize AFS Logistics profits and clients service
  • Track the client’s shipment in transit and provide feedback communication to the client
  • Resolve discrepancy between carrier invoices and carrier contracts to support Accounts Payable activities
  • Support AFS Logistics sales in the generation of traffic surveys and AFS Logistics’ value proposition to our clients
  • Support the AFS Logistics Brokerage activities by managing after hours, weekend and holiday response to client and carrier call
  • Work as a team to maximize operational effectiveness with departmental depth
  • Assist in defining and implementing process improvements to optimize departmental and organizational performance
  • Define and maintains managerial reporting functions to indicate status against expectation

  • Education and Experience
  • Associate Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Three to Five years’ progressive customer service and/or transportation dispatching experience
  • Experience in international transportation a plus
